Another amazing NBC event as the children celebrated a week of reading by... well reading I'm sure! We were allowed to come in a character disguise and the NBC whānau didn't disappoint. The only challenge was picking the best because there were som many awesome costumes.
Next up we got to go to the hall and pick FREE books. These had been donated by our own community and organised by our clever PTFA crew of parents. So it was a case of share and share alike with many a book finding a loving new home.
Read about it indeed!
Term 4 2025 saw us gather and celebrate our cultures. We learnt about different cultures through the week and on Friday we gathered and shared our own and what we had been learning. We were lucky to see some Irish dacning, Kapa Haka nd a performance from our Korean learners.
This year we had 3 teams head to Hagley to compete in the Winter Zone competition. There were Year 5/6 netball and football teams and a year 7/8 netball team. Footsteps and focus shown by all! Well done to our 7/8 netballers who have qualified for the cCanterbury champs in September.
Another PTFA masterclass as they brought us together to dance, party, eat, and build those relationships at the Grace's Vineyard in New Brighton.
The sun was shining and the jugs were boiling as we prepared for our Matariki celebration. We started with a mihi to welcome new whanau and children to the school. The Kapa Haka group knocked it out of the park. Next up we lined up for a delicious hot chocolate and a piece of cake before we went and looked at all the wonderful art around the school. Our celebration ended with a choice of stations including art, dance, weaving, games and puzzles.
Always exciting to start the year with Harold and Jo from Life Education.
This term we were lucky to be visited by several of the Canterbury NPC rugby players. For some it was a homecoming as Billy Harmon and Sars Flood are both former students at NBC! We got to get some insight into the life of a professional rugby player and had a great time asking questions.
Cross Country Fun Run
The 8th of June was a great end to our fun run fundraising. We ran further than we had ever run and had a great time!
